Past Project Reflection/Progress Evaluations

My first project brief was to create a looping animation based on the theme of 'childhood.' We also were tasked with creating a looping walk cycle using traditional methods. I initially struggled with ideas for my childhood animation as I had never attempted animation before and it is a tricky theme to visualise. I had more success with my dog walk cycle (see below) and am still pleased with how it came out compared to my childhood final piece. We also looked at the technique of rotascoping to animate.

My second project brief was creating a 2D animation short on Cinema 4D. The style I chose for my wolf characters was very different to my usual preference for realism but I feel it helped me expand on my skills and allowed me to start considering simpler styles as time saving options. This was a great project for me as it pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped my confidence in trying something new.

My current project is on 3D animation and character design and I am on my second week so far.
Last week we were tasked with creating a 'fat' character on Adobe Illustrator and finalising our character design which I have done. The Illustrator task was a good chance to explore a different style and practicing the pen tool as I still find it tricky to use but I like how it came out personally. I feel I am on track so far with the workload and am ready to move forwards with finalising my line-art and starting the 3D process.

My targets for this week are:
Finish the lineart poses.
Finish off the character sheet at home.
